EYEBROW MICROBLADING

WHAT IS MICROBLADING?

Microblading is a manual method of cosmetic tattooing specifically for eyebrows. also referred to as Eyebrow Embroidery, Feather Stroke Brows, 3D Brows,6D Brows or micropigmentation. It is less invasive and considered as semi-permanent. It is performed using a very fine sterile hand tool and creates many hair-like impressions by implanting pigment strokes under the skin. It is meant to replace individual hairs, not to fill your brows to look like they're filled in with pencil or shadow. The hair strokes appear crisp, very fine, and extremely natural.

To Whom it is applicable?
If you want to effortlessly look your best anytime, then microblading is for you! If you want to look younger healthier, and more vibrant semi permanent makeup does wonders! If you’re a busy mom, business woman or have an active lifestyle you’ll save hours every week not having to stand in front of the mirror slaving over applying makeup. Not to mention, you won’t have to worry about sweating it off during a workout or melting by the end of an evening out.

What is the difference between Microblading and standard body tattooing?
The purpose of microblading is to enhance the features with what appears to be undetected, natural looking eyebrows. Microblading is more subtle – it is meant to be a natural-looking enhancement. Traditional body tattoos use electric tools and ink while microblading procedures involve pigments and a manual hand tool.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How long will it last?
Since microblading pigments are not implanted into the skin as deep as traditional tattoos, the area will naturally fade overtime. Microblading typically lasts 9-18 months, depending on skin type (normal, oily, dry), age (youthful/mature). There is no guarantee in how long it lasts as each individuals skin will respond differently. Skincare routine will also affect the lasting effect of the pigment: patients who tan, uses products with AHA or Glycolic Acid will fade faster as your skin will resurface faster. If you have extremely oily skin, the microblading technique may NOT work well for you. The constant production of oil will cause the hairstrokes to heal with a diffused, softer look. Your end result will look more powdered instead of a crisp hair stroke appearance. If you are a frequent smoker, your pigment will fade sooner. To maintain the brows looking fresh, a touch up is suggested every 12-18 months. Clients can let the microbladed area fade over time, but please note a slight shadow may remain.

Does it hurt?
Everyone has a different level of sensitivity. An anesthetic is applied for numbing during the procedure to alleviate discomfort. Every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the duration of the procedure. The pain level for the procedure is considered mild to none. Prior to the procedure your brow technician will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the area, and also reapplied during the procedure. After the procedure, redness and slight swelling in the area is normal. Clients describe the area feeling similar to a light sunburn.

PLEASE NOTE: Having this service performed during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure.

* If you are a frequent smoker, the topical anesthetics used during the treatment will not last as long.
* If you have been diagnosed with Fibromyalgia, be aware that this may affect your sensitivity tolerance to the procedure.

How long does it take?
The entire procedure should take about 2-3 hours. During this session, the brow technician will shape and style the client’s brows for client approval. We then follow with pigment color selection. Once the client is satisfied with the choices, we begin the procedure.

How long is the healing process?
Initially, the brows appear darker, but fade significantly over the healing period. It is normal to experience minimal swelling and tenderness following your procedure. It doesn’t take very long for it to disappear. This is normal for the procedure and part of the healing process. The color will fade by up to 40% as it heals. In the following days, the eyebrows will continue to be dark and you will notice slight scabbing. Do not pick at the scabs as this may damage the skin and the outcome of the microbladed area. The eyebrows will lighten up in color as it heals. No down time is required after microblading procedure. It takes approximately 7-14 days for the brows to heal over, and about 1 month for the color to fully set in. You'll notice the color is very light right after the two weeks after healing; the skin will have an opaque milky looking quality to it. This is known as the milk skin and is common in tattooing. This is due to the the tissue still healing from the inside out even though the surface of the skin is healed. True color will reveal itself once healed.

Touch Up / Retouch?
Some may choose to have additional Touch-Ups to achieve desired results. Results and longevity vary greatly from person to person.

Healed results will vary with each individual client. NO guarantees will be made. Additional sessions (at a minimum charge) may be required to obtain optimal results. Additional charges will apply. Although we give our best efforts to provide you with quality service, many factors can result in a less than desired outcome as each client will heal differently.

An enhancement session visit approximately 4 to 8 weeks after your initial appointment is necessary in order to achieve that richness of color and density in the shape.

However, we recommend a Touch-Up annually to retain ideal shape and saturation of pigment.

*FUTURE TOUCH UPS FOR RETURN CLIENTS ONLY

Can I get my touch up/retouch session sooner than 4 weeks?
Touch up sessions should not be done earlier than 4 weeks after initial microblading session as pigment color has not fully settled into the skin. Most importantly, this is to prevent scar damage as the tissue requires time to completely heal.

Can you microblade my OLD TATTOO?
We are extremely selective when working over other tattoo artist's work. If you have had your eyebrows previously tattooed, we request that you email us a clear photos of your brows for approval. BEFORE your appointment.

Can you microblade Brows with SCAR?

What to do BEFORE the procedure?
In order to achieve the best results, it is best to follow the pre and post care instructions.
Prior to your procedure, clients are advised of the following:
If you have an ideal shape and color in mind, please bring a couple reference photos with you to your appointment. You may fill in your eyebrows as you normally would so we may take into consideration the shape you feel most comfortable with. If you regularly get your eyebrows shaped, waxed, threaded or tinted, please refrain from doing so within a week of your appointment. If there are any stray hairs that fall outside of our final shape, we can remove them. We will then work together to create the perfect brows!

If you plan to go on a vacation, it is recommended to plan your trip a minimum of 30 days after the procedure.

We require our clients to avoid any blood thinning medication for a minimum of 48 hours prior to their appointment. This includes Vitamin E, Aspirin, Niacin, fish oil supplements, and Ibuprofen.

Do NOT drink any alcohol or caffeine 48 hours prior to your appointment. (Yes, decaf coffee has caffeine!)

NO Botox for 2 months prior to microblading and No Botox 4 weeks after microblading (We recommend that it's best to wait until after your touch up heals to get Botox, as an educated injector will take your new brows into consideration when choosing where to inject.)

It is highly recommended that you avoid SUN and TANNING BED exposure for 30 days BEFORE and AFTER your procedure.

GENERAL AFTERCARE INSTRUCTIONS (For 14 days after the procedure)

 DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area. Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate off. Picking can cause scarring and pigment loss!
 COMPLETELY avoid direct sun exposure and tanning beds for a minimum of 4 weeks after your procedure. Direct sunlight can cause the pigment to change color while it is healing and can also cause hyper pigmentation and scarring.
 Avoid pool, sauna, steam rooms, hot showers and/or hot baths for 3 weeks.
 Avoid sweating for a full 10 days. Any physical effort, gym, hot weather, any other activity that may cause sweating through or on the brows will expel pigment from the dermis producing poor results.

 NO makeup or skincare products to be used on the treated area for two weeks.
 NO facials, chemical treatments and microdermabrasion for 4 weeks.

 NO botox for 4 weeks. We recommend that it's best to wait until after your touch up heals to get Botox, as an educated injector will take your new brows into consideration when choosing where to inject.
 After 14 days, once the area has healed completely, consider using sunblock when going out in the sun to stop the color from fading.
 Avoid Retin-A, Chemical Peels and Microdermabrasion around the brow area once healed.
